Great Migration Centennial
With the help of the Pullman Porters’ “information highway”, 7 Million Southern Blacks migrated North in search of the Promise land. Chicago presents unique opportunities to educate America through the multiple compelling stories of the Great Migration.
Experience The National A. Philip Randolph Pullman Porter Museum is located in the area designated by President Obama in Feb 2015 as the Pullman National Monument under the National Park Service. Founded in 1995 by Dr. Lyn Hughes, the small but historically significant museum which celebrates the legacy of A. Philip Randolph and the Pullman Porters is the only one of its kind worldwide.
